We Keep On Singing

In today’s assembly we had two fabulous fifth grade guest readers read the book Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons by Eric Litwin.  In this adventure, Pete the Cat is wearing his favorite shirt with four groovy buttons.  One by one the buttons pop off, but, “Does Pete cry?  Goodness, no!”  Pete the Cat knows, “buttons come and buttons go.  We keep on singing.”

After the story, the students talked with their buddies about why we read about Pete and his four groovy buttons.  This is what they had to say:

“No matter what happens, keep on going.”

“Even though you might lose something you keep on going on.”

“If you lose something, don’t cry, keep on going on.”

“Don’t give up, just keep on going.”

“When we are on the playground and we have problems, we keep on going.”

Enjoy the weekend!
