The Buddy System

Many of you know we have a buddy system in place for our students at ESA, but there is another buddy system you may not know about.  Part of our ESA is the English Language program taught by Mrs. Katz-Urvan.  Mrs. Katz-Urvan has been a part of Clayton's summer program for many years as the elementary EL teacher.  She works hard to meet the needs of her learners in every area, not just reading and math.  This year, the Wydown EL teacher, Miss Roberson, and Mrs. Katz-Urvan have created a buddy system connecting the middle school and elementary EL summer programs.  Once a week, the middle schoolers walk to Glenridge to share some buddy time with our students here.  This buddy system was featured on the district's web page this week.  Click to read about it and see the pictures of our students sharing their learning together: EL Buddies.
